After releasing his first album, Upwey, to overwhelmingly positive reviews and airplay across the country and overseas Bill Hunt bowed out of the music scene and withdrew the album from sale, leaving the promise of a follow-up unfulfilled.
That’s about to change.
To coincide with the release of Bill Hunt’s second collection of songs titled Plietesials he will be performing at the 5 Church Street venue in Bellingen.
In a live setting Hunt’s wit, his commitment to his craft, and to communicating the breadth of human emotion from within the confines of the song form creates an intimacy which serves his literate and at times cinematic writing style well.
And while he is performing a handful of shows in support of Plietesials he is at the same time, in his own words, not back, “I don’t want to be in the music business, I’m not back, it’s just a very slight return – poking my head in the doorway then I’ll be off again.”
“Bill Hunt’s boot-clad feet have been walking this earth for a while now, and when he has something to sing, we should listen.” – Music Feeds
“You immediately get drawn in by Hunt’s voice – high, lonesome with a keening edge that is American, Celtic and Australian.” – John Hardaker, Words and Music.
